Past Oration 2012

The inaugural Graeme Schofield Oration was held in 2012 and was titled “Hell’s Kitchen: Post-Conflict Recovery and Justice; Forensic Medicine and Human Rights.”

The Oration consisted of two parts, delivered by two prestigious international speakers.

Topic: “Hell’s Kitchen: Post-Conflict Recovery and Justice; Forensic Medicine and Human Rights.”

When: 5:30pm, Thursday 7th Jun 2012

Where: Monash Law Chambers, Melbourne

Cost: The Oration was a free public event.

Guest Speakers:

Morris Tidball-BinzDr Morris Tidball-Binz is the Forensic Coordinator for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Dr Tidball-Binz spoke about the application of forensic sciences to resolving the issue of those “Missing”, who are usually dead, following war or internal violence.

 

 

Kevin ParkerThe Honourable Kevin Parker AC RFD is a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. He was also a permanent Judge and Vice President of the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal  for the Former Yugoslavia at  The Hague from 2003 – 2011. His talk was titled, “Partners in Crime – Justice and Forensic Science.”

The 2012 Oration Dinner

RACV Melbourne City ClubThe 2012 Oration Dinner was held immediately after the Oration as a separate ticketed event hosted by the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.

Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine

The inaugural Graeme Schofield VIFM Oration took place on June 7th,  2012.
